Built to be fair

A tutor directory that actually works for tutors — and gives parents a straight deal with no ongoing fees.

Why we built this

The tutor marketplace that dominated the UK for years — First Tutors — closed in May 2026. The other big platforms moved to commission models, taking 15–33% of every lesson a tutor earns. That means a tutor charging £40 an hour could be handing over £13 per session to a platform they listed on for free. Forever.

That always seemed wrong to us. Tutors work hard to build their reputation and skills. Parents deserve to know exactly what they're paying for. And both sides deserve to deal with each other directly, without a platform sitting in the middle clipping the ticket.

So we built a simple alternative: browse every profile for free, pay a single small finder's fee when you're ready to get in touch, then take the relationship completely off-platform. It's the oldest model in the book — a directory, not a marketplace. We think it's still the right one.

What we stand for

Tutors keep everything they earn

The tutor you hire sets their own rate and receives every penny. We charge parents a one-off finder's fee — we never take a cut of lessons.

Transparent pricing, no surprises

One fee, shown clearly upfront. No subscriptions, no hidden charges, nothing recurring. What you see is what you pay.

Safety first

We require ID checks and encourage tutors to hold an Enhanced DBS certificate. Verified tutors carry a badge so parents know who they're dealing with.

Direct relationships

Once you have contact details, the relationship is yours. You arrange lessons, set terms, and handle payment directly — no platform in the middle.

Safety & trust

We understand that parents are trusting us with something important — finding someone to work with their children. We take that seriously.

Every tutor on the platform is required to complete an identity check before their profile goes live. We encourage tutors to hold a valid Enhanced DBS certificate and those who do receive a verified badge on their profile.

If you have concerns about any tutor listed on the platform, please contact us. We review and act on all reports.
